Steel structure factories attach great importance to lighting design to make full use of natural light, reduce the use of artificial lighting, and reduce energy consumption. There are two main lighting methods: side window lighting and skylight lighting. Daylighting for side windows is achieved by setting windows on the side wall of the factory building. The size, number and location of the windows are reasonably determined according to the orientation of the factory building, lighting requirements and architectural design. Generally speaking, side window lighting can meet the lighting needs of the surrounding areas of the factory building. For deeper areas inside the factory building, skylight lighting needs to be combined to improve the lighting effect. Skylight lighting is to set up a skylight on the roof of the factory building to allow sunlight to directly shine into the interior of the factory building. Common forms of skylight include rectangular skylight, serrated skylight, flat skylight, etc. Rectangular skylight has the advantages of uniform lighting and good ventilation, but its structure is relatively complex and the cost is high; serrated skylight is suitable for factory buildings with special requirements for the direction of lighting, such as textile mills; flat skylight has the highest lighting efficiency, but its waterproof performance is relatively poor, and effective waterproof measures are needed. In order to improve the lighting effect, some auxiliary measures will be used in the lighting design, such as installing glass with good light transmission performance on windows and skylight, and setting up reflectors or mirrors inside the factory to reflect light to all corners of the factory.
